Overview

The Large Hydrogen Thruster is a thruster driven by Hydrogen as its main fuel source, instead of Electricity like the regular Thruster and unlike the regular thruster it uses no electricity. The thruster is available on both small and large ships.

Its advantage over the regular thruster is that it is much more powerful, making it useful for escaping the planet's atmosphere.

Usage

For the thruster to work, you need to connect it to a conveyor network with an attached Hydrogen Tank or Oxygen Generator.

For more information on thrusters and their mechanics, see Thruster.

Tips

  • Hydrogen (at least still in Update 01.109) burns quite quickly. So while this thruster is around 3x more powerful than the Ion electrical thrusters, they can only run for a limited time before you'll eventually run out. So don't entirely depend on them.

Known Issues

  • In creative mode, the hydrogen thrusters won't function when placed without it being connected to a hydrogen tank. The tank itself doesn't have to be filled at all, it simply just won't turn on until this requirement is met.
