Function
The conveyor tube is a transparent pipe that can transfer items from two opposite sides. It is cheaper to build compared to the Conveyor, but only has 2 ports. For a full explanation on conveyors, see Conveyor Network.
Another interesting feature of the conveyor tube is that it also has indicator lights on it that inform the player of its status. Currently, there are only two states that it can be in:
Green lights | Successful Connection |
---|---|
Red lights | No connection/No Power |
- Note
- When not powered, the lights on the conveyor tube will turn red. However, this does not mean items cannot be transferred.
Placement
Conveyor tubes may be placed on any device on both small ships & large/station, but only in straight lines. For curves, the player must use Conveyors or Curved Conveyor Tubes. The size of the block remains constant on grids, meaning, on small ships it takes 3x3x3 block spaces. It should be noted that the Conveyor tube is only compatible with large conveyor ports.
Usage
Using the block is simple, and easy to use. An example on how to make use of this is to first:
- Place a cargo container anywhere on the floor
-
- Next place the conveyor tube on the cargo container facing the other direction. You will notice the lights on the block are "red", this is okay; it only indicates that there is no connection on the other end of the conveyor.
-
- Now place another cargo container on the other side of the conveyor tube.
-
- The light should now turn green, indicating a successful connection
