About

The newest rendition of the Shattered Plains Server, the Shattered Plains Apocalypse is set to take place immediately following the events of The Fall. New players will find themselves able to spawn on either Earth or Mars onboard a respawnship that has taken heavy damage and is falling into orbit. Keeping with the lore, the ships ion thrusters have been completely destroyed and it will take some pilot skill to land the custom ship using a mix of hydrogen and atmospheric thrusters and possibly even a parachute.

The emergency landing will throw you right into the scene of the new Dark Age. Space itself looks different, saturated with a purple hue from a nebula of charged particles released by the mysterious Fog Fleet. Platinum stores have been almost entirely wiped out in space. The Earth's moon, mysteriously still contains platinum, along with select asteroid fields - however will be highly contested. Platinum prices have skyrocketed in all free trade stations with very limited stock.

Through human engineering hydrogen thrusters have now reached 3x fuel efficiency making them a much more viable space propulsion technology. Interstellar travel is finally back - but that doesn’t meet there won't be challenges. The Fog Fleet still roams space and they're more destructive than ever. This admin/NPC faction may attack without notice in any number of ship designs that were taken over by the nanovirus. While these mini-events may pose extreme danger, they're also an opportunity to potentially salvage some much needed platinum. If you chose to engage, be prepared to lose your ship.
