This block was introduced in V1.079.
The oxygen farm is a functional Block available for Large Ships and Stations.
It is used to generate breathable Oxygen out of solar radiation.
It needs energy in order to generate O2. The generation is very small compared to an oxygen generator, but steady. The farm must be connected to an existing Conveyor Network to send the generated oxygen to consumers like Oxygen Tanks or Air Vents.

The efficiency of the farm depends on its current exposure to the sun. Similar to solar panels. It also has a similar 'efficiency indicator' as solar panels.

The farm block has only one conveyor port at the bottom.

Oxygen Generation

Game version: 1.079.008

Oxygen generation at 100% efficiency 0.03 O2/s 1.71 L/min

As the generation rate is very low, at least 2 farms are needed to provide a space engineer with a sustainable supply of oxygen.

Notes

- The surfaces of the block that must be exposed to the sun for better functionality are the two sides featuring the 'efficiency indicators' and nothing else.

Tips

- The 1x1x1 base of the block where the connector is located has no incidence on the productivity of the oxygen farm block so you can 'bury' it without loss of productivity in case you need to save some space.
